After running chkdsk because I got blue screen everytime I booted, now it's working but the taskbar and start button are gone! I tried running explorer.exe but that didn't do anything!
I have an emachines T6534 and whenever I started up my computer I would get a stop error 0x00000024.
I ran chkdsk on my other computer with the hard drive and it seemed to fix the blue screen error.
But now whenever I log in, it takes like 15 minutes to
log in and I can't access files.
The "start" button doesn't appear neither does the taskbar.
I can run task manager, but thats it.
I have very important files on that hard drive and can't afford to lose it.
I can't even open internet explorer from task manager.
When I try to run system restore, it says "system restore is unable to protect your computer"
Please help me! Thank you very much.

The Stop 0x24 message indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives.
A similar Stop message, 0x23, exists for the file allocation table (FAT16 or FAT32) file systems.
Possible resolutions:
1.
Malfunctioning SCSI and Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) hardware or drivers can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, causing errors.
If using SCSI hard disks, check for cabling and termination problems between the
SCSI controller and the disks.
Periodically check Event Viewer for error messages related to SCSI or FASTFAT in the System log or Autochk in the Application log.
2.
Verify that the tools you use to continually monitor your system, such as virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenters are compatible with Windows XP.
Some disks and adapters come packaged with diagnostic software that you can use to run hardware
tests.
Check Windows System Requirements
This error can be due to some configuration requirements for you system. If your PC hardware is not up to par, then make sure you upgrade where necessary before continuing:
Microsoft Windows Requirements :
- 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
