Bad path on my Internet Explorer, no 6, 7, 8 is installed. I deleted part of Explorer instead of uninstalling causing a bad path, need help?

I have Vista Home basic 6.1 and would like to install my Window 7 premium, however, I have had a bad path and/or connection problem from Internet Explorer.
My explorer was deleted causing part of Explorer to work.
I can open internet explorer, but it is
distorted with florescent  colors flashing making the Explorer impossible to use.
How should I get all of the explorer parts deleted so I can start fresh?

Since you confirm that the problem is due to explorer.exe file deleted, you may run SFC (System File Checker) scan.
This scans for corrupted system files and repairs the same if found.

If that doesn’t work, create a new user account for test purpose and verify if the problem persists.

Run CHKDSK to Fix Bad path on my Internet Explorer, no 6, 7, 8 is installed. I deleted part of Explorer instead of uninstalling causing a bad path, need help?

• Go to the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Reboot your computer.

An error might pop up:

"Access denied as you do not have significant privileges. You have to invoke this utility in elevated mode."

If you receive the above error message, it means you are not logged into you computer as an Administrator. If that's the case, follow these steps to run the command prompt in elevated mode:

• Go to theStart button.
• Go to "All Programs > Accessories" and right click on "Command Prompt".
• Select "Run as Administrator".
• In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Reboot your computer.
