Documents.library-ms" is no longer working
Original Title: Libraries
My Toshiba Satellite laptop updated and then when I tried to go into libraries it comes up with a message to say "Pictures.library - ms" is no longer working. This message also comes up for Documents, Music, New Library, and Videos. I also have roughly
the same message for desk top assist which says it is not working. Can anyone help. I have tried everything I can think of but am not an expert in computers.

To assist you better I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:
Which Windows updates was not installed? What is the KB (Knowledge Base) Articles number?
Follow the troubleshooting steps and check if it helps;
Method 1:
Check which Windows Update was installed in view update history.
View the update history and remove the update which is causing the problem.
a)
Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.
b)
Click on Run.
c)
Type Appwiz.cpl
d)
Click on View Installed Updates
Method 2:
Please follow the steps to restore default libraries in Windows 8
a) Press
Windows key + E on the keyboard.
b) Open Windows Explorer, right-click on the Library and choose Delete.
c) Click ‘Yes’ when asked for confirmation.
Note: Deleting a library does not delete the contents of the included folders.
However, you may need to re-add or include your folders manually, if needed.
d) Then, in the navigation pane of Windows Explorer, right-click Libraries and click Restore default libraries.
Method 3:
If restoring default libraries does not help, then perform a system restore.
You can restore it back to an earlier point in time, called a restore point.
System Restore doesn’t change your personal files, but it might remove recently installed apps and drivers on the computer.

Note: The apps that came with your PC or you installed from Windows Store will be reinstalled, but any apps you installed from other websites and DVDs will be removed.

Manually editing the Windows registry to fix Error Documents.library-ms" is no longer working

- Click the Start button.
- Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
- While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
- You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
- Click Yes.
- A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
- Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
- In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
- From the File menu, choose Export.
- In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
- In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
- In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
- Click Save.
- The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
- You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.
