Is it possible to apply "keep with next" to some lines within a paragraph without applying it to the whole paragraph?

I have a few lines that I would like to keep together on the same page within a larger paragraph that does not need to all stay on the same page.  Unfortunately, when I try to apply "keep with next" to the few lines that need to stay together, Word applies
it to the whole paragraph.  When I try to remove "keep with next" from the lines that I don't want to have it, Word removes it from the entire paragraph.  Is there a way to get word to do what I want?

No, it's not possible -- the Keep With Next setting is a property of the paragraph, not of any smaller division of text.

The next best thing is to condense or expand the font in a small part of the paragraph before the lines you're concerned about, so those lines will either fit together at the bottom of the earlier page or will be forced to the next page.
Select some text, right-click
and click Font, go to the Advanced tab, and change the Spacing setting up or down.
An adjustment of up to 0.5 point will usually be unnoticeable.
