Equation Comes in as Text
Hi All,
I don't know what is wrong but the worksheet has some existing formulae/equations but when i try to add another, it comes in as text.
All i want is for the value of cell D1 to appear in N24 so i enter "=D1" (without the quotes) in N24 but it just comes in as text.
Please help me understand what i'm sure is a basic blunder.

...and that quickly, i figured it out.
The cell into which i was trying to enter the equation was formatted as "text" which is the same formatting as the cell whose value i wanted to repeat, but it appears the format MUST be "General" to accept an equation.
Any comments?
