Troubleshoot:2 Sided printing wont work with Homegroup Error

2 Sided printing wont work with Homegroup

I have a windows 7 Desktop that is physically hooked to a HP F4400 all in one, and a windows 7 Laptop that uses the same printer wirelessly through homegroup.  The problem is that for some reason I can't get the 2 sided printing feature to work from the
laptop, although other printer features such as draft (ink saving) printing, and 2 pages per side work just fine.  I installed the drivers for the printer on the laptop and that didn't fix it, and I have no idea what to do to fix this problem.  Please help.

Hi Lee,

Are you able to get the “two sided printing feature” to work from your desktop computer?

It seems like the default setting to support the Duplexing hardware might be set to “Off”.
I would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Set the Duplex unit for two-sided printing to ‘installed’ from the printer properties
a.    Click on Start; Click on Devices and printers.
b.    Right click on your Printer icon
c.    Select 'Printer Properties'
d.    Click on 'Device Settings' tab.
Look for the 'Duplex unit (for 2-sided printing)' and see if it's set to "Not Installed
e.    Change it to "installed" from the drop down menu.
f.     Click 'OK' to accept the changes and close the dialog’

Step 2: Set the printing preferences
a.    Click on Start; Click on Devices and printers.
b.    Right click on your Printer icon.
c.    Select Printing Preferences.
d.    Click on Advanced tab.
e.    Check to see if there is a 'Duplex Hardware' or '2-sided printing' option
f.     If you see that option, enable it.
g.    Save the changes.

Hope this information is helpful and let me know if you need any further assistance.
